Reviewed for accuracy by the Roberts Carpet & Fine Floors team, Houston’s only National Floorcovering Alliance (NFA) member dealer. Most Houston homeowners walk into a carpet showroom thinking about one number: price per square foot. That is the wrong starting point. Carpet cost is not a single number — it is a system. The fiber,…

In any carpeted Houston home, the stairs are the first place the carpet will show its age. That is not a flaw in the design — it is physics. Every step concentrates the full weight of…
Most Houston homeowners spend considerable time choosing the right carpet and almost no time choosing the pad beneath it. That is a costly oversight. The pad — also called the cushion — is what your carpet actually rests on for the next 10 to 15 years. It affects how the carpet feels underfoot, how well…

Walk into any Houston flooring showroom and you will hear some version of the same question: what is the best carpet? It is the wrong question. The best carpet for a Tanglewood living room with two…

Most Houston homeowners find out about their carpet warranty the hard way — after something goes wrong. A stubborn stain appears, or the carpet starts looking worn long before it should, and they call the manufacturer…
Hardwood flooring is the one product in a flooring showroom where nobody asks “what’s the cheapest option?” first. Customers who shop for wood flooring are not driven by price. They walk in looking for something that feels different, looks different, and ages differently than anything else on the market. That mindset separates wood buyers from…
Most Houston homeowners spend weeks choosing the perfect flooring. They compare colors, textures, and price points across every showroom in town. Then they hand the project off to an installer and assume the hard part is over. It is not. The subfloor underneath your new floor determines whether it performs for decades or fails in…
You can buy the most expensive hardwood, the highest-rated LVP, or the thickest SPC on the market. None of it matters if the person installing it skips the subfloor assessment, ignores the moisture test, or does not know how to handle a tricky door jamb transition. Installing hard surface flooring is a construction-type project, and…
Every flooring product sold in Houston comes with a warranty. Most Houston homeowners assume that warranty protects them from just about anything, especially when the box says “waterproof.” That assumption is wrong, and it costs families thousands of dollars every year when a claim gets denied and they have no idea why. The flooring industry…
The technology behind luxury vinyl plank has become genuinely impressive. Today’s SPC products replicate wood grain texture with a level of detail that would have been unrecognizable a decade ago. The embossing, the sheen variation, the plank width options — manufacturers have invested billions in making LVP look like the real thing. And yet, for…

The interiors of 2727 Kirby are every bit as beautiful as the exterior, if not more. Often described as a work of art, this 30-floor condominium is one of Houston’s most luxurious urban residencies. It consists of 93 units and is located in the prestigious River Oaks/Upper Kirby neighborhood.
2727 Kirby was among the first of the many high rise collaborations to come. Quorum was contracted to complete both the hardwood flooring and carpet for this gorgeous condominium.
The architectural detail and design of this 33-floor high rise are rivaled only by the grandest high rises in the country rarely seen outside of NYC. Arabella consists of 99 luxury residences in the River Oaks District three blocks from the Galleria.
Quorum were entrusted expert tradesmen from the onset of the development. The job was to procure, finish, and install custom hardwood floors for all common areas and within each unit. We worked closely and collaboratively on dozens of unique designs within this project, each bringing their own set of challenges. The one-of-a-kind flooring in one of the penthouse units was nominated for Interior Design’s Best Of Year Award; a mixture of wood species in varying sizes encased in a new material composed of timber, wood dust, cement and plaster.
